Hi C9 Community + Friends!

June is here, and I couldn't be happier about it. For me, this is the sweet spot of the year—long evenings, time outside at the cabin and hobby farm, and that feeling that summer has finally, fully arrived. I hope you're finding ways to soak it in.

That outdoor energy is showing up in a big way across our C9 groups right now. Members are planning some incredible summer social outings—boat trips on Lake Minnetonka, team crew rowing on the Mississippi, pottery making, ropes courses, pickleball, and indoor rock climbing at Vertical Endeavors, just to name a few. It's one of my favorite things about our C9 Community: when the seasons change, leave it to our amazing C9 Members to find the perfect way to celebrate each one.

If you haven't signed up yet for our June C9 Gives Jam Session: The Technology Optimization Playbook, registration closes this Friday, June 12th at 5:00 PM. Get your tickets today before we close it out! The event is free and open to everyone, and we have some truly phenomenal breakout sessions lined up.

Looking ahead, mark your calendars for our July C9 Well Event: a Walk + Talk at Lone Lake Park in Minnetonka on July 17th. The park features nearly two miles of trails with beautiful views of wetlands, woodlands, and Lone Lake—a wonderful backdrop for making new connections. Prefer a little friendly competition? The park also has eight pickleball courts on a first-come, first-served basis, so bring your equipment if you want to play. C9 Members can expect their official invitation in their email inboxes next week. Then in August, we'll be gathering at CHS Field for the C9 Summer Social on August 6th—our most anticipated event of the year!

I also want to share an exciting update on the C9 Gives Foundation's Project Ascent Mentorship Program. We set a goal of 10 mentor/mentee matches by the end of the year, and we've already received over 30 mentor applications. That response has been humbling and energizing. Now we need mentees. If you or someone you know could benefit from being paired with an experienced mentor through Project Ascent, I encourage you to apply. More details are below and at c9gives.org.

C9 Gives Foundation Project Ascent Mentorship Program

The C9 Gives Foundation Project Ascent Mentorship Program is a structured experience designed to connect established business leaders with ascending entrepreneurs and leaders who are actively building and growing their companies.

The program is built around one clear objective:

Create meaningful progress for entrepreneurs + leaders through focused guidance, accountability, and real-world perspective.

The program is run and supported by the C9 Gives Foundation, the philanthropic and community-building arm of Coalition9 dedicated to strengthening entrepreneurs and the broader business ecosystem.

The commitment is a minimum of 6 months at 1–2 hours per month.

Our 2026 goal: At least 10 mentor/mentee relationships built by year's end.

Currently, we are looking for mentees. (We already have over 30 mentors signed up!)

This C9 Gives Foundation event is a benefit to small business owners and entrepreneurs within and outside the Coalition9 Community. It is a collaboration between the C9 Gives Foundation and Coalition9, united by our shared vision: Changing Business Nine Leaders at a Time™.

In this interactive event, you’ll choose from four expert-led workshops spanning foundational AI readiness, data security guardrails, legacy software optimization, and AI-driven revenue generation. We’ll run two rounds so you can customize your schedule and dive deep with industry experts, including Loffler Companies, MyTech Partners, Code Pros, and Forage.

Whether you need to build a clean data infrastructure, audit employee AI usage, evaluate whether to "save or swap" aging software, or leverage AI to supercharge your existing marketing assets, you’ll walk away with a practical framework to optimize your current platforms and safely scale your business.

Location: Lone Lake Park in Minnetonka

Come together with other C9ers to enjoy a summer morning in nature in Minnetonka—all while building some new relationships.

We'll meet near the lower main parking lot (by the playground equipment) and split into small groups for walking, talking, and making new friends at 8:45 AM sharp. Take a self-guided tour of the beautiful 146-acre Lone Lake Community Park and Preserve, which features views of Lone Lake from the shore and dock, expansive open space, and nearly two miles of formal trails—including a 1.2-mile loop from the lower main parking lot with scenic views of the park's diverse ecological areas: wetlands, woodlands, and prairies.

Prefer a little friendly competition? Start your day with pickleball instead! The park has 8 courts available on a first-come, first-served basis—just bring your own equipment.

May Event Recap - C9 Well: The Rewired Mind

On May 13th, the Coalition9 Community gathered at Forgotten Star Brewing for our C9 Well event, "The Rewired Mind," a candid fireside chat on the science of neuroplasticity, bridging clinical psychology and the transformative power of non-ordinary states of consciousness.

Moderator Mike Jones (EOS Worldwide) sat down with Maggie Kirkwood (North Node) and Dr. James Mosher (Parallax Executive Psychotherapy) to explore the brain's potential to reorganize itself and the emerging research into psychedelics as a tool for healing the mind.

A Few Highlights:

The panelists offered a grounded overview of the history, science, research, and therapeutic use cases of psychedelics as a pathway for healing emotional problems and problematic experiences through transformative states of consciousness.
In clinical settings, researchers are evaluating these substances for their neuroregenerative and neuroplasticity effects—the potential to "reset" rigid thought patterns.
Psychedelics remain highly regulated and controlled substances, and access for mental health treatment is generally restricted to FDA-approved clinical trials.
However, the legal landscape is shifting, including here in Minnesota.
You don't need substances to activate altered states of consciousness. Meditation, breathwork, movement, and deep human connection—anything that helps you feel safe and regulated—can foster beneficial non-ordinary states of consciousness.
Spotting "mismatch experiences"—the everyday moments that challenge the story we tell about ourselves—are opportunities for real growth.
